The CEO of the Public Trustee, Mr David Benbow, has confirmed he will retire at the beginning of August, with his last day being Wednesday the 4th of August.
Mr Benbow said that it had been an honour to lead the Public Trustee for the last eight years.
“Earlier this year, I made the decision to retire and in May I advised a number of key stakeholders including the Government,” Mr Benbow said.
“With my retirement date fast approaching I would like to publicly thank all of my colleagues for their support and hard work.
“We have worked hard to make the Public Trustee a more efficient and client-focussed organisation during my time as CEO and I am very proud of the achievements that my team and I have made.”
Mark Scanlon, Chair of the Public Trustee Board, thanked Mr Benbow for his years of service.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank David for his strong leadership during his time as CEO,” Mr Scanlon said.
“Over the past eight years, David has made positive impacts on our clients and staff by leading the Public Trustee on a transformation journey to deliver services that are affordable and accessible for the Tasmanian community.”
The Board has made a recommendation to the Portfolio Minister, the Attorney General, to appoint an Acting CEO until such time as the recruitment process for the incoming CEO is completed.
