What does this mean for clients?

At this stage, there are no changes to our services, and clients do not need to take any action. It’s business as usual, and we continue to provide all of our services as normal.

The Government has commissioned independent expert advice on the appropriate governance structure for the Public Trustee. This process is expected to take around eight weeks (approx. end of November 2024), after which the advice will help shape a future operating model. The detailed implementation planning is anticipated to take 12 to 18 months.

As further details emerge from the Government, we will keep clients informed. Rest assured, you do not need to make any changes to your Will or estate planning documents, and we will contact you directly if any action is required.
